This Privacy Policy explains what information the WinThemOver mobile app (“WinThemOver”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account details — a username and email address you provide at sign-up. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash; we never store them in plain text.
- Gameplay data — the messages you send in a round, the scores and persuasion analysis they generate, your ratings, wins/losses, leaderboard standings and equipped cosmetics.
- Purchase status — whether you hold an active Premium subscription. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see or store your card details.
- Technical data — basic request information (such as IP address) used transiently for rate limiting, security and debugging.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and deliver the game.
- To score your messages, generate your persuasion analysis, and rank you on leaderboards.
- To send transactional emails — a verification code at sign-up and a code if you reset your password.
- To grant and maintain Premium entitlements.
- To prevent abuse and keep the service reliable.
Service providers
We share the minimum data necessary with providers who help us run the app:
- Apple — App Store purchases and subscription management.
- Groq — processes the text of your in-game messages to generate the in-character replies and persuasion scoring. Messages are sent for real-time processing and are not used by us to build advertising profiles.
- Brevo — sends verification and password-reset emails.
- Render — hosts our servers and database.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Old, finished game conversations and their messages are automatically deleted after roughly 30 days to keep the service lean; your aggregate stats (ratings, best scores, style profile) are retained. You can delete everything at any time (see below).
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from inside the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, games, messages, scores, leaderboard entries and match history and cannot be undone.
Children
WinThemOver is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and passwords are hashed. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
